Snow!

On Sunday evening, January 9, Atlanta was hit with an unusually large winter storm. Snow and ice totals reached 6-8 inches in the Canton and Ball Ground area. As you can imagine, this shut down the city pretty good for several days. The schools were closed for the week and the kids enjoyed the sledding, building snow men and other activities that are not normal southern distractions. The storm also made it impossible for workers to make it to our job site until Thursday so we are a little behind on a few things but we will catch up quickly.

On Tuesday I ventured out to check the status of some of the roads and to make sure there were no problems at the new building. The undisturbed blanket of snow covering the ground in front of the building was beautiful and I could not help but pray that the Lord will one day soon fill this building with souls who will hear the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ and have their sins washed "whiter than snow".

By Saturday the snow had melted enough that we were back to work. Framing, trash and snow clean up and electrical were all on the job list for Saturday. Much was accomplished and everyone got involved, especially David (on the track-hoe).

Dec19 - Jan8

Though there were not work days for our volunteers during the Christmas holidays our project manager and the contractors were hard at work and much progress was made. The HVAC installation (duct work, furnaces, etc), plumbing and electrical are moving forward and are preparing for the next inspection. The first work night of the new year saw a great turn out, including some of our college students who are home on Christmas break.
